Does a God who is vengeful and severe
Exchange His throne for a womb?

Does a God who is coercive and arbitrary
Give His power away to peasants?

Does a God who demands worship
Suckle at His mommy’s breast?

Can a God of retributive punishment
Love unconditionally from a manger?

Can a God who kills His sin-sick creatures
Also be a physician who heals under a star?

Jesus was born to tell the truth about God
So we could bow with the wise men
And trust Him as well
